Clarence Pier, Portsmouth Washroom

The public conveniences situated by Clarence Pier were in extremely poor condition. We were approached by Portsmouth City Council to tender for the refurbishment project as we had carried out works for them previously, and the contract was subsequently awarded to us.

This was a major project and involved design, building works, and a total refit throughout.

We recommended the Bushboard washroom range to Portsmouth City Council and the 'Continuum' range using solid grade laminates was chosen, as it was considered suitable for use in a demanding environment.

We also recommended that 'Wallgate' composite and stainless steel Handwasher/ Driers were installed. These units have been used in both main areas as an anti-vandal alternative to the normal washbasins and hand towel dispensers.

In addition to the large male and female washrooms, which are attended during opening hours, we have also provided small 24-hour toilet areas for use when the main facilities are closed.

We have also installed a sound system and consequently the toilets are always 'alive with the sound of music'.

So if you want to check out our works and you want a trip to the seaside these toilets are definitely well worth a visit!!!

Clarence Pier toilets were completed this summer at a cost of £500,000.00 + VAT and took approximately three months to complete.
